If you have kids in school or daycare, you probably feel like you’re forever dodging one wave after another.
Many families know about the conventional options, but some are also curious about Homeopathy’s unique approach to supporting immune resilience – including a special group of remedies called nosodes.
What are Nosodes? In Homeopathy, nosodes are remedies prepared from disease-related material that have been highly diluted and potentized according to homeopathic principles. By the time they become a remedy, they are so dilute that no original measurable material remains, just the energetic imprint – similar to any other homeopathic remedy.
Some Homeopaths use nosodes in two main ways: Constitutionally: As part of a deeper, long-term treatment pattern & Prophylactically (Homeoprophylaxis) – in an attempt to educate or nudge the body’s own defenses before or during a season of exposure.
Meet Our Shield Nosodes for Prevention:
- Strep
- Covid
- Influenza
- Whopping Cough
- RSV
Available as a bundle (which also includes Thymuline), or individually. In the past, we’ve always reserved these remedies for practitioner to client use only. However, we’ve heard your feedback on how you want more support for you & your family – so we are bringing this to you. Each order comes with a dosing card, so you can feel confident in using these nosodes at home either preventively, during or post illness.
Let’s discuss benefits:
While we cannot claim that nosodes prevent illness, here are the kinds of benefits you might expect:
- Supporting the body’s pattern recongintion: Each nosode relates to a particular disease pattern. This can help encourage the body to recognize a familiar picture more efficiently and support a more organized immune response if/when exposure happens.
- Easing the intensity if illness does occur: Many families who choose nosodes aren’t necessarily hoping to “never get sick.” Instead, they’re hoping to: experience shorter, less intense illnesses, reduce the risk of repeated, back-to-back infections and support recovery alongside other remedies if they do get sick.
- Emotional reassurance and a sense of agency: Cold and flu season can feel really powerless, especially with little ones. Some parents appreciate having a plan that feels aligned with their natural/holistic values, and feel like they’re doing something proactive, especially when combined with nutrition, sleep, stress support, herbs etc.
Let’s take a closer look at each nosode:
- Strep nosode: Helpful for strep, recurrent strep, or where strep seems to run through the household repeatedly. It’s often used as a way to support the body’s relationship with this specific pattern over time.
- Pertussis/Whooping Cough: Used in communities where whooping cough is circulating, or in those with a history of intense cough illnesses. It can be helpful to use Homeoprophlactically during known outbreaks, or as part of recovery support after infection.
- Influenza nosode: A classic winter-season nosode. It can be helpful to take it during flu season with the hope of easing severity and supporting quicker recovery if flu hits, while still using acute remedies as needed.
- Covid Nosode: A more modern addition to HP, the Covid nosode can support those with a history of Covid, long-haul issues or high exposure settings. You may also consider it in a broader “respiratory support” strategy.
- RSV Nosode: Can be a helpful addition with little ones who are prone to respiratory distress, have weakened immune systems or who have a history of RSV.
- Thymuline (optional add on / is included in the bundle) can be taken once weekly, or for daily use to enhance immune modulation and balance during exposures. Thymuline doesn’t stimulate or suppress immunity, it helps regulate it. When used with a nosode for prevention, it supports the body’s ability to recognize patterns and maintain appropriate, calm , immune responses. Thymuline is especially helpful for kids or adults who overact or under react to exposures.
Note: Nosodes are not vaccines and do not work in the same way. They are also not a guarantee of prevention. They can be a supportive option to help reduce susceptibility or lessen illness. Always discuss concerns with your healthcare provider.
