Have you started watching Maxton Hall yet? If not, what are you waiting for? With season 2 now airing on Amazon, this romantic-drama TV show is trending worldwide. So naturally, we wanted to break down remedy profiles for the top few characters.

In Homeopathy, every remedy holds a story: a pattern of feeling, reacting, protecting and ultimately healing. Let’s explore the Maxton Hall cast through that lens – how each personality reveals an archetype and the deeper lessen it offers.

  • James Beaufort: Aurum Metallicum
James is the embodiment of Aurum Met: noble, driven, burdened by impossible expectations. Raised under his father’s shadow, he equates worth with performance. After his Mom’s death in season two, his structure collapses and Aurum under pressure often implodes into excess (hello his out of control partying in episode 1). His parties, arrogance, and avoidance aren’t rebellion – they’re grief in disguise.
When Ruby enters his world, her quiet authenticity destabilizes his perfectionism. She becomes his mirror – reflecting the difference between image and intimacy.
When James begins therapy, we witness Aurum’s true healing arc: humility. He learns that vulnerability is stronger than control and confesses this to not only Ruby, but the entire crowd at the event).

  • Ruby Bell: Silica
Ruby embodies Silica: disciplined, precise, morally grounded. Her power is gentle but unwavering, a diamond under pressure.
In a world that celebrates privilege, she stands for integrity. At first, she doubts her worth – but as life challenges her, she transforms from hesitant and invisible to self-assured.
Ruby at first clashes with James – his pride against her quiet resolve. Through their friction, Ruby finds her voice, and James finds his softness. She teaches him that love doesn’t need perfection. He teaches her that strength doesn’t mean hiding.

  • Lydia Beaufort: Natrum Muracticum (Nat Mur)
Lydia is elegance with hidden depth. Nat Mur types are emotional empaths wrapped in composure. They crave connection but fear rejection.
Lydia’s restraint, loyalty and grief are all Nat Mur expressions – she feels everything, says little and hides behind control. Lydia very much wants to be involved more with the family business and not hide her relationship with Mr. Sutton. Her greaatest evolution comes when she begins to express rather than endure.

  • Mortimer Beaufort: Platina
Mortimer represents the unhealed masculine – dominance, control, and suppressed grief. He’s a textbook Platina Metallicum: proud, authoritative, and terrified of vulnerability.
Platina types build walls of hierarchy to avoid feeling small. Their worth depends on staying above others. Mortimer’s obsession with legacy and power is the Platina delusion in motion. His coldness towards James isn’t hatred – it’s fear of reflection. If he saw his son’s pain, he’d have to face his own.

As the season goes on, we’ll break down some of the other characters possible remedy needs. So far we are thinking: Lin to be a possible Ignatia (we have yet to know much about her other than her family losing their business), Cyril to be a possible Lachesis (especially in season 2 with his competition with James), Mr Sutton to be a possible Lycopodium (smart, intellect but inside feeling inadequate), Ember to be a Phosphorus (empathetic, magnetic, there for others – especially Ruby).
