What is a nosode?

A nosode is a type of homeopathic remedy that is derived from diseased organisms. The term “nosodes” comes from the Greek word “nosos,” meaning “disease,”. These remedies can be prepared from infected human or animal products, including tissues, secretions, or cultured pathogens like bacteria, viruses, and parasites.

Nosodes may be considered for use to help the body heal from chronic issues that may have been suppressed and/or infections that were never able to fully recover from. Nosodes may also be utilized in the case that a disease was experienced and not healed from a previous generation miasmatically. Nosodes bring the body into better balance and retrain the body’s response.

Nosodes are based on the philosophy of isopathy, which follows the principle of “same treats same.” Though the virus or bacteria is inactivated during preparation, the remedy retains the energetic qualities of the original material. When introduced to the body, nosodes stimulate the natural healing process, helping to combat the disease, alleviate symptoms, and restore balance. They can be used in both acute and chronic conditions.

Approaches to homeopathy may differ depending on a homeopath or practitioner’s training and experience. In some cases, a nosode may be paired with a constitutional remedy, particularly after utilizing constitutional care alone and not experiencing the desired results. There are also professionals using nosodes to support a variety of matters, including but not limited to “jab” reactions, chronic illness, PANS/PANDAS, and more.

Because they are considered higher-potency remedies, nosodes are best used with guidance and training. Rooted Remedies nosodes, and other high-potency remedies, are available for approved affiliate practitioners to use with their clients.
